Arabian bishop: ‘it is an evil thing to kill in the name of God’

March 09, 2016

Commenting on the recent murder of four Missionaries of Charity and 12 others at a home for the elderly in Yemen, the bishop responsible for the pastoral care of Christians in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia said that “it is an evil thing to kill in the name of God.”

“It is just as bad to see the indifference of the media, the absolute silence on the massacre,” Bishop Camillo Ballin, the apostolic vicar of Northern Arabia, told AsiaNews.

In the nations in which he ministers, Bishop Ballin said that “a climate of tension is visible and governments have tightened controls and beefed up security because of real fears that the Islamic State group might make inroads.”
