Planned Parenthood president to speak at Georgetown

March 03, 2016

Cecile Richards, the president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, will speak in April on the campus of Georgetown University, America's oldest Catholic institution of higher education, the Cardinal Newmany Society has announced.

Richardds has been invited to speak by the Lecture Fund, a student-run organization at Georgetown, a Jesuit-run school in Washington, DC. The exact date of her appearance has not yet been announced. The lecture will be open only to invited guests (including media representatives) and members of the Georgetown community.

Patrick Reilly, president of the Cardinal Newman Society-- a group dedicated to protecting the Catholic identity of Church-affiliated colleges and universities-- remarked: "Disguised as an academic event, this is nothing more than a platform for abortion advocacy at a Catholic university and under the nose of the Catholic bishops, featuring a wicked woman who defends the sale of baby body parts and is responsible for the deaths of millions of aborted children."

We know Ms Richards for who she is. Quite possibly some students do, also. There may be informed students who would question her position and rebut her in the question/ answer section. The Holy Spirit has his ways and these students are taught to think,as any good educational system provides. They are exposed to many ideas and must learn how to sort out the good from the bad.

Georgetown! Think about the souls of the students.....and choose your path, either be Catholic or be secular.....

Georgetown is clearly a university in the "Jesuit tradition" as opposed to the "Catholic tradition"!

Ex corde Ecclesiae states that Catholic teaching and discipline are to influence all university activities … Any official action or commitment of the University is to be in accord with its Catholic identity. This is not applicable in the present situation: Georgetown's leadership, faculty and students have long since given up even a pretense of Catholic identity. They now need to worry about their lost souls.

Fordham hires a pro-choice attorney who is fighting against pro-life positions in a court case. Georgetown brings in Ms. Richards to speak. Regis professors counseled kids when our daughter attended there that contraceptives were okay. Is the Society of Jesus really Catholic???
