Synod of Bishops ponders ‘synodal Church’
February 18, 2016
The general secretariat of the Synod of Bishops recently concluded four days of study devoted to “the Synod of Bishops at the service of a synodal Church.”
Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, the Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops, said in a statement that synodality needs to be considered in light of the mystery of distinction in unity of the Holy Trinity.
Calling for an “established consultation of God’s People” before and during synod assemblies, the prelate said that it could be “useful” for the Synod of Bishops to develop from an “event” into a “process.”
