Pope encourages Catholic charitable organizations to take part in Lenten retreat

At the conclusion of his general audience on January 27, Pope Francis encouraged “persons and groups engaged in the service of charity” to make a Lenten retreat using materials prepared by the Pontifical Council Cor Unum.

“A specific date for the entire universal Church has not been determined in order to allow each charitable organization, group or institution” to schedule a retreat “ with great freedom according to its needs,” the pontifical council stated in its retreat materials.
