Mexican diocese warns against fake tickets to events during papal visit

January 13, 2016

The Diocese of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, has warned the public against hucksters who are selling counterfeit tickets to public events scheduled during the February visit by Pope Francis.

Tickets for the papal Mass have not yet been printed, a spokesman for the Juarez diocese said. All tickets to papal events will be free, but tickets are required as a means of controlling the size of the crowd. The Juarez diocese has been allotted 100,000 tickets, which will be distributed through parishes. Another 120,000 tickets will be allotted to other neighboring Mexican dioceses.
