Pakistani bishop calls for forgiveness amid attacks
December 22, 2015
As he opened the holy door at his cathedral in Pakistan’s third-largest city on December 20, Bishop Joseph Arshad of Faisalabad described the jubilee year as “a great sign of love and hope for the whole world.”
“In the last year there have been many attacks on the Christian minority, so it is crucial to promote forgiveness and tolerance, starting within the schools,” he said, according to an AsiaNews report. “Pakistan is desperate for the message of peace and hope, our land is wounded with terrorism and the atmosphere is polluted with intolerance.”
