South African archbishop wants greater reverence in liturgy
April 15, 2009
Archbishop Buti Tlaghale of Johannesburg, South Africa, has called for greater reverence in the liturgy. In his homily on Holy Thursday, the archbishop complained to a lax approach to the Eucharist, and encouraged priests to keep the faithful informed about Vatican documents on proper liturgical practices. "This is one way of reawakening and increasing Eucharistic faith," the archbishop said. "This is the supreme treasure of the Catholic Church."
