Manila cardinal begins ‘season of creation’

September 04, 2015

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of Manila began the Archdiocese of Manila’s “season of creation” on September 1 with a call to ecological conversion that included being content with one’s possessions and conserving electricity.

The season began on September 1, the World Day of Prayer for Creation, and concludes on October 4, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

The prelate also called upon Catholics to “support the Global Catholic Climate Movement that aims to gather 10 million signatures to call on world leaders to sign the commitment to limit the increase of the global temperature to below 1.5 degrees centigrade.”
