Irish prelate calls for daily prayer for the Synod

August 21, 2015

Preaching at the national Marian shrine in Knock, Archbishop Eamon Martin of Armagh, the Primate of All Ireland, called for daily prayer for families until the beginning of the upcoming Synod of Bishops on the family.

“I invite the faithful of every age to participate in a ‘Rosary of Prayer’ over the next 50 days in preparation for the Synod on the family,” he said. “I encourage everyone to pray even one Hail Mary-- and to dedicate their prayer to the family-- over each of the 50 days between now and the Synod … I ask people to pray that the Synod will be able to offer the Church, and the world, pastoral initiatives to encourage renewed efforts in sharing the joy of the Gospel in our daily lives.”
