Nigerian priest kidnapped

A Catholic priest was kidnapped on May 4 in Ikanepo, Nigeria, the Fides news service reports.

Father Innocent Umor, a priest of the Idah diocese, was abducted by five armed men, who broke into the rectory where the priest was sleeping in the early hours of the morning.

Father Umor is reportedly being held for a ransom of $20,000. Police have begun investigating the kidnapping.
