Pope announces trip to Sarajevo, calls for protection of human life
February 02, 2015
At the conclusion of his February 1 Angelus address, Pope Francis announced that he would make an apostolic journey to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on June 6.
The Pope prayed that his visit would “give rise to the development of good and contribute to the consolidation of brotherhood and peace, interreligious dialogue and friendship.”
Pope Francis also noted that in Italy, February 1 is commemorated as the Day of Life and expressed appreciation for pro-life organizations.
“I join the Italian bishops in calling for ‘a renewed recognition of the human person and a more adequate care of life, from conception to its natural end,’” the Pope said.
