Ancient Lebanese Christian town fears conquest by Islamist militants

The residents of Ras Baalbek, an ancient Lebanese Christian town, fear conquest by Islamist militant rebels in Syria, according to a syndicated Los Angeles Times report.

“Our great fear is that they will sneak in at night and take the whole village hostage,” said one resident.

In early December, Islamist militants murdered six Lebanese soldiers outside the village.
