Kenya’s bishops concerned about vaccination campaign

October 21, 2014

The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops has expressed concerned that a tetanus vaccine campaign aimed at women of childbearing years also has contraceptive properties that could render recipients permanently infertile, according to the Catholic Information Service for Africa.

“There was lack of public information and education about the tetanus vaccine,” said Bishop Paul Njiru, who chairs the bishops’ health commission. “What is the [government health] ministry hiding this time round?”

The government has dismissed the episcopal conference’s concerns.

Government always dismisses anything they cannot answer and are trying to hide something. If nothing wrong have an independent group test the vaccine.
