Pocket-sized Gospels to be distributed at Pope’s Sunday Angelus address

April 04, 2014

Stating that the Pope’s charity is “not only material, but also spiritual,” the Holy See Press Office has announced that seminarians, Missionaries of Charity, and other volunteers will distribute a pocket-sized edition of the Gospels to those who attend Pope Francis’s April 6 Sunday Angelus address.

The distribution will take place two weeks after Pope Francis asked those who heard his March 23 Angelus address to carry a pocket-sized edition of the Gospels and read it daily.

The pocket-sized edition is being printed by Vatican Press for this occasion and will not be sold. The edition includes the four Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles, a prayer by Blessed John Henry Newman, and instructions on how to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
