Papal telegram for Chilean earthquake victims
April 03, 2014
Pope Francis has sent a telegram of condolence to the president of Chile’s episcopal conference following an 8.2-magnitude earthquake near Iquique, a city in the northern part of the nation.
Asking God to grant eternal rest to the dead and comfort and hope to the survivors, Pope Francis prayed that “Christian communities, civil institutions, and people of good will” would offer assistance to the survivors “with a generous spirit and fraternal charity.”
