International Eucharistic Congress boosted Irish economy, report finds

Last year’s International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin brought €33 million ($42 million) into the Irish economy, the event’s chief manager has reported.
More than 100,000 people visited Dublin during the event last June, drawing business into the Irish capital. The financial benefits from the event disproved complaints from Irish critics who had said that the International Eucharistic Congress would be a drain on the economy.
