Boston's Cardinal O'Malley promises daily tweets until November election

October 12, 2012

Boston's Cardinal Sean O'Malley has announced that he will send out "tweet" messages every day until Election Day, November 6. The cardinal's messages will touch on public issues, such as the referendum that would legalize assisted suicide in Massachusetts.

“The next four weeks are very important here in the Archdiocese of Boston and in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,” Cardinal O'Malley said. Polls have shown that the assisted-suicide initiative has strong support among voters in the heavily Catholic state.

Cardinal O'Malley said that his daily messages will also cover "foundational principles and hopes of this Year of Faith in the archdiocese.”
