Cardinal Dolan, Stephen Colbert to match wits in forum on comedy

July 25, 2012

Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York will team up with television comedian Stephen Colbert at a forum on faith and humor, to be held at Fordham University in September.

The forum will be chaired by Father James Martin, a popular Jesuit columnist and author of Between Heaven and Mirth. The gift of humor, Father Martin says, is “just what the Catholic Church needs.”

Secular folly. Dolans's choice of being onstage with these two guys is scandalous. Once again it appears that the Cardinal is getting advice and direction of idiots. Darn right Lauriem, better he goes to an abortion mill. How many invites has he gotten to the 40 days for Life vigil which he does not even acknowledge.

Maybe as chairman Fr.Martin will keep his views to himself.

Is this what is needed at this time? Fr.Martin has been rather public about his non-acceptance of the Church's teachings on homosexuality. Not good.

I'd rather see Cardinal Dolan teaming up with those holding vigil outside of abortion clinics.
