Catholic Recipe: Picnic Cake
A plain square cake with a crumb topping is a nice picnic dessert.
DIRECTIONS
Prepare any favorite cake mix; bake in square pan; let cool in pan. Combine 1/3 cup melted butter or margarine, 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar, 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, few grains salt, 1 cup flaked coconut, and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. Spread evenly over surface of cake. Broil slowly until golden brown. Serve cake from pan.
