  • 3/4 cup baking powder
  • 2 Tablespoons salt
  • 4 cups shortening
  • 3 quarts milk

Dropped baking powder biscuits are simple and always delicious. A definite crowd-pleaser.

DIRECTIONS

Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Gradually stir in milk. Drop by spoonfuls, 2 inches apart, on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 450° approximately 12 minutes or until brown. Makes 160 biscuits or 80 servings.
