Description:

A good prayer to be said by every farmer, rural or in the city plagued by pests in the garden. This prayer can be said in conjunction with the novena to St. Isidore the Farmer, feast day May 15 in the USA.

Although taken from a separate booklet, this novena was also included in the lovely prayerbook The Rural Life Prayerbook, written and compiled by Alban J. Dachauer, S.J. and printed by the National Catholic Rural Life Conference in 1956 (and recently reprinted by TAN Books).

Prayer:

Graciously hear our prayers, we beseech You, O Lord, that we who are justly punished for our sins and must bear the punishment of this plague, may be freed from it for the glory of Your name. By Your power may these injurious animals be driven off so that they will do no harm to any one and will leave our fields and meadows unharmed, and so that the things sprouting and growing in these fields may honor Your majesty and serve our needs. Amen.
