Keeping candles lit in the windows come from an Irish tradition. Of course, electric candles are safer and can replace the real candles.

DIRECTIONS

In Irish homes on Christmas Eve three large candles are lighted in the living room and three smaller candles in each window. Also, the door of every Irish home is left unlocked on Christmas Eve so that the Holy Family will be able to enter.
