MYSTERY OF FAITH (liturgy)

Title of the Holy Eucharist occurring in the Canon of the Mass. Formerly mysterium fidei was part of the words of Consecration. It is now spoken out loud by the priest, after the Consecration, referring not to the response by the people that follows but to the mystery of transubstantiation just enacted on the altar.
