INFANTS, ANOINTING OF

Children may be given the sacrament of anointing of the sick even before the age of seven, provided they have reached the age of reason. The doctrinal basis for this provision is that anointing can be validly administered to any baptized person who is capable of making a moral decision and therefore of committing at least a venial sin.
