FIXED FEASTS
Definition
Festivals of greater or less importance that regularly occur on certain days in the liturgical year. Such are solemnities like Christmas, feasts of Our Lady, the Immaculate Conception, and saints' days, whether observed in the universal Church, such as those of the Apostles, or only in certain countries or localities, such as St. Elizabeth Seton in the United States and St. Andrew Bobola in Poland.
