FÁTIMA SECRET

The third part of a three-part account of the apparition of the Blessed Virgin which occurred on July 13, 1917. The account was written by Sister Lucy, a Carmelite nun and one of the three shepherd children to whom Mary appeared at what is now the famous Portuguese shrine. Part One described a vision of hell. Part Two was the promise of the conversion of the peoples of Russia through devotion to the Immaculate Heart. Part Three was the "secret" that was to be opened until 1960, or on the death of Sister Lucy. It is reported that Sister Lucy communicated the secret to Pope John XXIII, presumably the prediction of great trials for the Church, but its contents have not been disclosed.
