Too bad King Canute wasn't at the Paris summit

So our world leaders have pronounced that the world's temperatures may not rise more than 2°. I trust Mother Nature has been put on notice.
The Paris climate-change agreement did not include any compliance mechanism. Which is just as well, because if Divine Providence has plans for an overall warming trend, I wonder how the UN leadership proposes to punish He who "dost hold all the nations in derision."
And to think that, all these years, we've been singing about wanting a white Christmas. I wonder whether Irving Berlin considered the possibility that instead of merely dreaming, we could get it done by a citizen petition.

Old joke: Famous wizard can create any living thing simply by scooping dirt and blowing into his hands. Gets a big head, challenges God to a creating contest. God agrees, goes first. God scoops up dirt, blows into it and creates a parade of flying unicorns with rainbows and comets spouting from their hooves. Crowd amazed. Wizard, undaunted, bends over, scoops up dirt, prepares to blow into it and God says "Hold on now hold on---get your own dirt."

It sounds like we are in complete agreement on this topic, Phil. I have been honestly researching not just climate statistics but Church teachings which are based on the Word. If I truly believe that God created the heavens and the earth, all that is visible and invisible, and He has maintained the universe for thousands and thousands of years--how can I believe that myself and or any man can take control of the climate from God. I place God over man.
