Snow in Rome!

Good grief. It’s snowing in Rome today, and it’s not snowing here in central Massachusetts.
You can watch the snowflakes settling on the dome of St. Peter’s basilica, but when I look out my window I see bare ground. We had more snow in October than in November, December, and January combined. My cross-country skis are still in the attic gathering dust. There’s no sign of snow in the 10-day forecast.
I like snow. I'm ready for snow. I know what to do with snow. But I have no snow. I’m still waiting for winter to begin, and you tell me it’s snowing in Rome? Something very wrong here.

Yeah, you think something's wrong there, Phil? How 'bout when I look out my window in Minnesnowta and there's no snow? Or when the "Nation's Icebox", otherwise known as International Falls, Minn., has barely gone below zero this whole winter? That's seriously wrong.
