The bishops' semi-annual meeting begins Monday, November 10 and will continue until Thursday, November 13th. Please pray and fast for these men who have been tasked by God to defend Holy Mother Church. Their failure to do so is magnified by the issues Judie Brown will address at ALL's press conference: a refusal to prevent the most impenitent public sinners from committing sacrilege by taking the Sacred Body and Blood of Christ and the abandonment of the weakest and most helpless of the little lambs - the unborn babies and the sick and disabled like Terri Schiavo. Bishop Lynch of St. Petersburg is publicly seeking Terri's death. In a homily recently, for which he received a standing ovation, he publicly said her parents should let her go to God. But Terri isn't dying so the only way she can go to God is by deliberate dehydration and starvation. Bishop Lynch has not allowed his priests to speak out in favor of Terri's right to be fed, but he has priests now releasing statements calling her parents selfish for daring to defend her and saying they should let her go to heaven. (Like those who were murdered in the starvation bunker at Auschwitz with St. Maximilian Kolbe?) Bishop Lynch and other clergy are justifying what is AGAINST CATHOLIC TEACHING, the withdrawal of food and water to bring about death. The catechism says "an act or omission which, of itself or by intention, causes death...constitutes A MURDER." (my emphasis) Food and water are ordinary palliative care and they may not be removed to bring about the death. So we have a bishop of the church who is publicly advocating the murder of one of his sheep. This is horrifying, but no longer surprising. Defend Life and the Catholic Media Coalition are co-sponsoring a demonstration from 4-6 P.M. Monday, November 10th outside the Hyatt Regency at 400 New Jersey Ave. near Capitol Hill. Demonstrators will carry large signs of aborted babies and pictures of some bishops and the "Catholic" politicians in their dioceses who publicly advocate the murder of the unborn. If you live in the D.C. metro area please come to the demonstration. If you don't, please pray that the hearts of many will be touched and converted, especially our shepherds who have abandoned us to the wolves. The laity are called to stand in the gap left by the abandonment of our shepherds. Stand with your bodies at the bishops' meeting if possible. If not, stand spiritually with your prayers.
