Mass offerings: a useful survey

We recently received the following note from a reader, Father Albert Dello Russo:

Dear Sirs: I am a priest graduate canon law student at the Catholic University of America. I am writing my thesis on the subject of Mass offerings [for the intention of a loved one] and their licit retention by priests. It would be extremely helpful to me if you are able to post the following question and link to a survey in support of my efforts... My contention is that the faithful have no idea where these offerings go or what they are used for. I would be happy to share my results with you and indeed send you a copy of my published thesis in May when it is finished.

This kind of research is useful for pastoral purposes, so if you know anything at all about Mass offerings, please take a moment to help Father Albert by completing his very brief, anonymous survey.
