A homework assignment for St. John's University alumni

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Jun 12, 2003

The homework problem: Susan Ebbs, Ed.D., is senior vice president for student life at St. John's University in Jamaica, New York, a large (over 18,000 students) Vincentian university. Dr. Ebbs has a habit of supporting pro-abortion causes and candidates. According to tray.com, in the past 2 years she's given $3,000 to Emily's List (which exists to elect pro-abortion women candidates), $500 to America Women Vote! 2002 (a joint project of Emily's List and various state Democratic parties), $250 to New York candidate Jill Long Thompson (pro-abortion), $250 to New Hampshire candidate Jeanne Shaheen (pro-abortion), $250 to New Jersey candidate Anne Sumers (pro-abortion), $250 to Tennessee candidate Gayle Ray (pro-abortion), $250 to Arizona candidate Elaine Richardson (pro-abortion), $250 to South Dakota candidate Stephanie Herseth (pro-abortion), and $250 to New Hampshire candidate Martha Fuller Clark (pro-abortion).

The homework question: Basing your answer upon the information in this problem, do you think Dr. Ebbs will support Ex Corde Ecclesiae and encourage students to be faithful, pro-life Catholics?

The homework assignment: If you think the answer is no, contact your alma mater, emphasizing the effect Dr. Ebbs' continued presence on campus will have upon your future donations.
