CWN Editor's Note: The Holy See’s Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations told journalists that the Sino-Vatican accord on the appointment of bishops is imperfect.
“It’s not easy, the dialogue is not easy,” Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher said on October 27. “The imperfections of the agreement are evident, but there is a commitment to persevere in dialogue,” and “that is what will continue to happen.”
Archbishop Gallagher also described a papal visit to the United States as “very likely.”
“Obviously a visit to the United States is very likely, I would say, in the not-too-distant future,” he said. “one of the things that will influence it is eventually the American elections.”
