CWN Editor's Note: Pope Leo XIV was discharged from the hospital today—four days after he underwent lung surgery—and returned to the Vatican.
“Before leaving, the Holy Father thanked Professor Stefano Margaritora, who performed the surgery, together with the medical and nursing team,” the Holy See Press Office said in a statement. “He also greeted the healthcare staff, Professor Elena Beccalli, Rector of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, and the leadership of the Agostino Gemelli University Hospital.”
