CWN Editor's Note: A Pennsylvania diocese issued a statement exhorting the faithful not to attend an unauthorized traditional Latin Mass.
“Neither the chapel nor the announced liturgical celebrations have received authorization from the Diocese of Pittsburgh,” the diocese said in a statement. “The faithful are therefore advised not to attend these celebrations, which do not fulfil the Sunday obligation.”
The editors of The Pillar discussed the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s assertion that attending an illicit but valid celebration of the traditional Latin Mass does not fulfill one’s Sunday obligation.
