CWN Editor's Note: Pope Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Bishop Heinrich Timmerevers from the pastoral care of the diocese of Dresden-Meissen, Germany.

“I feel that the many challenges and responsibilities of this office have taken an enormous toll on me,” said the 74-year-old prelate, the second German bishop to resign in the past two weeks. “This diocese continues to need leadership with boundless energy.”
