The deacon’s identity was not revealed either by the San Diego diocese or by the news outlet that reported his announcement. The diocese said that he had been a legal resident during his service as a deacon.

I find it strange that the San Diego diocese would not disclose any further information about a member of its clergy whose legal-residency status was revoked, especially that the Deacon himself made the announcement publicly at Mass. The faithful should know whether the legal action against their Deacon was justified or not.
