California religious leaders push for marriage amendment; pro-lifers take lead on parental notification

As evangelical Protestants begin a campaign of 40 days of prayer and fasting for the passage of the California marriage protection amendment, the Catholic Catholic Conference has sent bulletin inserts to the state’s parishes. The Knights of Columbus are the largest single contributor to the ‘Yes on 8’ initiative. In a separate statewide initiative, pro-life activists have released poll data showing a majority of voters in favor of a bid to require parental notification before teenage girls procure an abortion.
