German bishops decry demonstration against lockdown

CWN Editor's Note: The leaders of the German Catholic bishops’ conference have denounced demonstrators who protested the country’s Covid lockdown restrictions. Bishop Georg Batzing, president of the episcopal conference, said that the behavior of demonstrators was “unacceptable.” Bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck said that the protest outside the parliament building drew “right-wing extremists, anti-vaccinationists, and adherents of conspiracy ideologies.”
