USCCB laments Senate’s failure to pass No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act

CWN Editor's Note: Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) sponsored the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2019 (S.109). The 48-47 vote in favor of the bill was 12 shy of the number needed to invoke cloture and bring the measure to a final vote.

    All who supported the "we will find out what is in the bill once we pass it into law" legislation should either reject the entire rotten mess or recuse themselves from criticizing bits and pieces of it. It represents the most destructive political intrusion into the practice of medicine in the history of our country. If you recall, the man who invented the scheme imposed it on the people of Massachusetts before the Feds imposed it on the rest of us. Then the GOP ran him as its candidate in 2012.
