CWN Editor's Note: Capuchin Franciscan Father Raniero Cantalamessa, preacher to the papal household since 1980, delivered his sermon on December 21 in the Redemptoris Mater Chapel of the Apostolic Palace, the Vatican press office noted. The overarching theme of his Advent sermons this year was “My soul thirsts for the living God.” The first sermon was entitled “God is!”; the second, “The living God and the living Trinity.”
