CWN Editor's Note: With Chaldean Catholic Archbishop Bashar Warda of Erbil at his side (photograph), President Donald Trump signed the measure into law on December 11. “Less than 200,000 Christians remain in Iraq, down from 1.4 million in 2002 and 500,000 in 2013, before ISIS swept through the region on its genocidal campaign,” said Archbishop Timothy Broglio, chairman of the US Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace.
