CWN Editor's Note: The Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch has issued a statement backing the Russian Orthodox Church in the dispute over the recognition of a self-governing Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Antioch patriarchate—which is based in Syria, and has close ties with the Moscow patriarchate—called for the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople to convene a meeting of all Orthodox patriarchs to discuss the issue.
