CWN Editor's Note: Before Brazil’s ex-president turned himself in, retired Bishop Angélico Sândalo Bernardino, 85, celebrated an outdoor Mass attended by Lula and hundreds of his supporters. “A staunch Lula supporter, [he] led the Mass [on] a makeshift altar on top of a sound truck, but was interrupted several times by chants of ‘don’t give up’ and ‘resist’ from the crowd,” according to the report.
