CWN Editor's Note: Pope Francis accepted the resignation of a Croatian bishop for reasons of age, named a successor, and appointed a new apostolic nuncio to Suriname. In addition, the Pontiff appointed Bishop Jean-Marie Le Vert, 58, as auxiliary bishop of Bordeaux; the French bishop had resigned from the see of Quimper et Léon in 2015, citing exhaustion and his desire, amid disagreements with leading clergy, to resign for the good of the diocese.
