I can confidently assert that my 10-year old nephew will never murder anyone with a firearm. This is because when he was 9 I taught him firearm safety, how to properly aim and shoot at paper targets, and the importance of doing so under the watchful gaze of the range commanders. Feeling the impact of the firearm on the palm of his hand and on his shoulder teaches him the power of the weapon and how to respect that power. The overriding emphasis on firearm safety reinforces that respect and care.
