White House hoping to schedule July meeting for Obama with Pope Benedict

White House and Vatican officials are working to arrange a meeting between Pope Benedict XVI and President Barack Obama, the National Catholic Register reports. The meeting would take place sometime during Obama's stay in Italy for the G8 summit, which will take place July 8- 10. Because of tight schedule constraints, the two sides are reportedly having difficulty in finding a mutually agreed date.
