Pope recalls St. John of the Cross

December 15, 2016

Following his December 14 general audience in Paul VI Audience Hall, Pope Francis recalled St. John of the Cross, whose feast was celebrated that day.

Paying tribute to the “zealous pastor and mystic doctor of the Church,” Pope Francis said:

Dear young people, meditate on the greatness of the love of Jesus, who was born and died for us; dear sick people, accept your cross meekly, in union with Christ for the conversion of sinners; and you, dear newlyweds, give more space to prayer especially in this time of Advent, so that your life become a path of Christian perfection.
