Papal prayers for Indonesian earthquake victims
December 09, 2016
Following the recitation of the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square on December 8, Pope Francis prayed for victims of a recent earthquake in Aceh on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
The earthquake claimed over 100 lives and displaced over 12,000 people.
The Pope offered prayer “for the victims and their families, for the wounded and for all those who lost their home. May the Lord give strength to the population and sustain the rescue work.”
