Iraqi military using militia groups to secure territory recaptured from Islamic State

The Iraqi military is relying on militia groups—some of them organized along religious lines—to secure the territory that has been recaptured from the Islamic State, the Fides news service reports.
Some Christian militia groups, as well as forces formed by ethnic minority groups, have been given control of local areas, to patrol and to administer the delivery of food and other necessary supplies.
