‘Energy for the common good’ will be theme of Vatican’s world-fair pavilion
November 17, 2016
Cardinal Peter Turkson, who will lead the new Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, has announced that the theme of the Vatican’s pavilion at the 2017 world fair will be “energy for the common good: taking care of the common home.”
The fair, officially known as Expo 2017, will take place in Astana, Kazakhstan. The entire event’s theme is “future energy.”
“The theme of the Expo impels us to think of ways of achieving social justice in the field of energy, and how to grant access to it for countries that lack energy and resources, making sure that energy is used in a clean and ethical way,” said Cardinal Turkson.
“There is another kind of energy that exists in all of us: spiritual energy,” he added. “The energy of prayer, which drives us to good deeds and actions.”
